Split Systems - Single Indoor unit + Single Outdoor Unit
Split systems consist of an indoor unit, outdoor unit and interconnecting pipework, condensate drain and cable. The indoor unit can be mounted wherever suits the customer best within the manufactures installation guidelines. The services are then ran from the indoor unit in either trunking, clips, boxing or cable tray to where the outdoor unit is to be located. The outdoor unit can be mounted on 'feet' or 'wall brackets' again where ever suits best. The system is then pressure tested in accordance manufactures specifications and the unit is charged according with refrigerant ready for operation.
Multi Split Systems - Multiple Indoor unit + Single Outdoor Unit
Multi split systems have the benefit of saving on required outdoor space and potentially saving on costs if several indoor units are required. Installations are similar to a 'split' system where by the interconnecting services still go from each indoor unit to the single outdoor unit but only 1 power supply is required at the outdoor unit.
